What is the minimum age requirement to work at Specialty's Café & Bakery?

You must be at least 16 years old to be employed at Specialty's Café & Bakery. However, some positions may require a minimum age of 18 to ensure compliance with Federal and State law requirements. If you are under 18 years of age, we require a valid work permit.

Do I need any experience to apply for a team lead or general manager position?

Yes. For the Team Lead position, we usually look for candidates with 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the food service industry. For the General Manager position, we look for candidates with 3 to 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in the food service industry.

What kind of training will I receive?

The training at Specialty's Café & Bakery consists of various programs designed to give you the skills and tools so you can excel in your position. The length of the training is dependent on the position you apply for, but typically all hourly employees receive 2 to 5 days of one-on-one on-the-job training. Some hourly positions, such as Catering Lead and Kitchen Supervisor, receive training that lasts up to 15 days. Team Leads and General Managers must complete a one-month and a three-month training period, respectively.
